There may be many mountain size obstacles in this life, but you don't have to face them alone. The key to overcoming these hurdles is found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He has not promised us the absence of conflict, but He has promised us comfort. In John 16:33, Jesus said "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
At HBC, we trust God at His Word and believe that knowing Jesus truly makes a difference! It makes a difference in this life, and it makes a difference in our eternal destination. If you want to know more about Jesus Christ, please visit any of our regularly scheduled services or contact the pastor. If you already have a relationship with Jesus, please come and be a part of our local church family as we serve and worship the King of kings! Listed below are a few things about us and what you can expect when visiting:
First, expect a grace-centered environment. You don't have to have it "all together" in order to fit in with us. HBC is filled with regular, every day people who have struggles and questions about life. You don't have to worry about being different or being evaluated by others. We are a diverse group of people with a great commonality in Jesus Christ.
Second, expect a strong focus on the Word of God. We firmly believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ can change lives and cultures. In everything we do, our goal is to please Him! Third, expect a Christ-honoring environment. At HBC, our services are filled with meaningful worship. Therefore, our music is focused on Christ and we sing to bring glory to Him.
The focal point of every service is the teaching and preaching of the Word of God. Pastor intentionally teaches the straightforwardness and face-value of Scripture. Every service is different; while our Sunday morning service is the most popular, our other services are where friendships are deepened. During our Sunday evening and midweek service, Pastor teaches verse by verse through specific books of the Bible to help in our Christian walk and application. It is also a time of reflection where the body is encouraged to praise the Lord publicly and share how God has blessed.
Additionally, we share our burdens and prayers with each other and the Lord in corporate prayer at our midweek service. We encourage prayer not only for each other on the days we meet, but also throughout the week. James 5:16 states that "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
Lastly, we would love to meet you and introduce you to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! He is truly the reason we assemble! For more information, please browse our website (our history, our beliefs, our staff, etc.), visit us this Sunday, or contact the pastor. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
